Danger Room has a great post about a FOIA-released OSD Net Assessment sponsored study of how ancient empires maintained their military advantage over time. Lots of great links to the original reports.
Data Ninja tools, Web 2.0 Edition
OECD Factblog was recently discussing the tools available for sharing charts online. It’s a great post for you fellow data ninjas. It also made me think I should add a running list of the web 2.0 tools I’ve found in this area:
- Many Eyes [Still my favorite.]
- Swivel [Just discovered, will have to explore. H/T OECD Factblog]
- Track-n-Graph [I haven’t used it yet. H/T Information Aesthetics.]
- Widgenie [Again, H/T Information Aesthetics]
Anyone have others to add? I’m specifically looking for platforms that allow data to remain tied to visualizations (so Processing and the like, while powerful, aren’t what I’m talking about here).
